The ability to give up well is more important than you might think

I wrote a program for the first time in a while to play a prank using electronic circuits and the IoT, ran it for a while, and stopped halfway through.

The goal is to surprise people rather than to make them perform advanced operations, so we just create them while combining sources from here and there.

What I realized when I stopped halfway through was that I had a better idea of the difficulty of what I was working on and the amount of time I would have to worry about it than I had in the past right before I stopped.

Although the actual measurement cannot be obtained without actually doing it, I was not too far off from my expectation when I checked the similar sources later as an answer to the question.

You can spend plenty of time without worrying about time, or you can stop halfway through.

Such a decision will be necessary when learning something unknown to you.

This style of learning, also known as exploratory learning, emphasizes persistence, but I think the ability to give up is more important than you might think.
